Olive
Olive so sweet
Olive is a sweet, gentle 7-year-old Old English Sheepdog who weighs about 85 pounds and loves nothing more than relaxing near her people. She’s an easygoing companion who enjoys short walks, cozy naps, and plenty of snuggles.
Olive is housebroken, crate trained (her cue is “kennel up”), and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come. She’s fine when left alone—usually napping or keeping a lazy eye out the window for squirrels she has no intention of catching. She walks at an easy pace and she’s a hit at the park—every child wants to pet her, and she’s perfectly content to soak up the attention.
She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and takes Proin ER for mild urinary incontinence, which is well-managed. Olive tolerates grooming and ear plucking very well and is comfortable being brushed, handled by a groomer, or seen by the vet. Like many sheepdogs, she benefits from regular coat care and the occasional spa day.
Olive is great with people of all ages and does well with other dogs. She’s not the alpha type—just a calm, happy presence. Her only “bossy” trait is gently nudging your hand or paw-five-ing you when she decides the petting shouldn’t stop yet. She doesn’t guard food or toys but will occasionally hide a favorite ball under her neck waddle when she wants to keep it from her sister.
She loves car rides when she’s safely secured with her harness and seatbelt tether. She’s not a jumper and will need a ramp, step, or a helping hand to get into the car or onto a grooming table. Olive isn’t a water dog and is not fond of fireworks.
She can go six to seven hours between potty breaks and may need a little encouragement to go outside when the grass is wet.
She is used to three small meals a day with a midday outing. She’s the kind of dog who can go almost anywhere—she especially loves visiting hardware stores or other dog-friendly shops.
Olive would do well in a home that appreciates a calm, affectionate companion—someone who enjoys easy strolls, quiet evenings, and a steady dose of unconditional dog love. A fenced yard is ideal, as her strong sniffer could lead her on an adventure if left unchecked. She’ll greet you with a full sniff-down if you’ve been around other animals, and she may reward you with a cuddle afterward.
Olive’s gentle soul, silly quirks, and relaxed personality make her a joy to live with—a perfect match for anyone looking for a loving, loyal best friend who is always happy to see you.
